The Please Be Seated Historic Chairs series comprised of three elegant books which cross continents and time periods as the author Gun Bjerkander Handberg seeks out the history and stories which surrounds each chair. With over 40 years of experience in the art and antiques world, the author researches and explores chairs with a true sense of passion and desire to respect the craftsmanship and elegance found in chairs from many different backgrounds.
Written with knowledge, wit and great affection, the Please Be Seated series has been translated from Swedish into English and has been sold internationally since 2016. The author also writes the Please Be Seated Historic Chair blog monthly, from her home in Skåne, Sweden where she publishes tales of antique and contemporary chairs which is read and enjoyed all over the world by her many followers.
