The original hardback version won the Junior Design Picture Book of The Year 2014 and was shortlisted for the Prima Parenting Children's Book of The Year in 2015. The Hounds of Falsterbo has been published in hardback, paperback and mini board-book version, written by Jules Nilsson.

The tale is essentially non-fictional as the author Jules Nilsson was so inspired by her new coastal home of Falsterbo in Sweden and the friendship formed between her own dog Buster and his two friends Nalle and Teddy.
The picture book emerged out of love for the landscape, the joy of the dogs and the author's love of the picture book genre and reading aloud to her own children. A full version book trailer, shot on location with the actual dogs in Falsterbo, is featured on the Guardian's website.
